Confessions of Blessed Alonso de Orozco

Blessed Alonso de Orozco was one of the most outstanding writers of devotional literature during the Spanish Golden Age. An Augustinian friar who desired prayer, study, and contemplative life, he was thrust into an active life so contrary to his nature - preacher to the royal court of Charles V of Spain. In the midst of this work, Blessed Alonso found time for the poor, contemplation, and writing. This follower of St. Augustine penned his own confessions, which are a moving story of his life and his goal to serve God.
